Welcome To Rimoi Nature Conservancy
The buzz of towns and everything urban gets to me all the time. I sometimes long for periods of silence, serenity and tranquility. The thought of getting away from the bustling chaos of hooting cars, blaring music, too much light in the night, and creeping away into a dark silent hole, excites me once in a while.
If you and I have anything in common, and like me, you are tired of the chaos and are up for a silent getaway in the heart of a jungle, surrounded by hills, watching massive elephants graze, then this is your read. In case you forget, Come Travel Kenya got you on this – the Great Kerio Valley Tour and Camping await.
The Drive from Nairobi:
You will definitely land in Nairobi, where a team from Come Travel Kenya will receive you in style. A rest in the city won’t be so bad for a night. You will be set up in a quiet hospitality paradise, you will not know you are in the city. A sumptuous dinner – magical Kenyan recipes, wait on the evening of arrival.
The drive, down the valley will start early. Watching the sunrise on the slopes of Mount Long’onot as you go down and through the magical towns of Naivasha and Nakuru, will be worth it.
By now you are in the know of the beautiful lakes in Naivasha and Nakuru. Every stopover at various viewpoints will be epic. You will see the picturesque landscapes of Kenya, take amazing pictures and most importantly, breathe in the fresh countryside air. Isn’t that epic already?
The home of Champions, Eldoret Town awaits your visit. That will be your next stop. It is important to note that you can choose to fly from Nairobi to Eldoret as well. In this case, Come Travel Kenya has you covered. But, if you love long drives and road trips, and landscapes are your muse, then a drive all the way will be perfect.
Going Down the Valley:
Do you ever ask yourself why Kenya produces the best Long Distance Runners? You will get the answers to your questions as you glide through the four major counties of champions – Nandi, Uasin Ngishu, Elgeyo Markwet and Baringo. The weather, the landscapes and the food is out of this world. Have you tasted the famous Mursik?
The thrill of this drive is the winding road down the valley from Iten Town. The road literally meanders. You flow down the valley in the Come Travel Kenya Land Cruiser like a River. The winding road takes you through twists and turns of Landscapes you have not seen before. Imagine, hills around you, punctuated by waterfalls…
You can always stop at Iten for Paragliding for an hour or two if you are an adrenaline junkie. Though September is rainy, it would not be advisable to go on this adventure.
The drive down the valley can only be experienced, writing about it is an underscore to the thrill.
Let’s camp with the Elephants
You have probably not heard about the latest National Nature Conservancy – Rimoi Nature Conservancy at the base of the Kerio Valley. This is a haven of serenity. Herds of elephants here, make the camping experience a thrill. It is equivalent to staying in the jungle, with nothing but a fire and a thin tent separating you from the wilderness.
Did I mention the lullaby of the churning of the Kerio River? This is an adventure on its own level. The Kerio River is chillingly a thrill. You get a chance to canoe down the great river, if you are an adrenaline Junkie.
Rimoi Nature Conservancy is a haven of serenity. It is vast with hundreds of animals, mostly elephants. Ever played golf in the wilderness?
Come Travel Kenya is giving you an opportunity to have a road trip down the valley, camp at Rimoi Nature Conservancy and play golf. Your peace of mind is an email away. Write us!
