Exploring Lamu Old Town, where you can admire the stunning architecture, visit the Lamu Museum and the Lamu Fort, and experience the local life in the narrow alleyways. Relaxing on Shela Beach, a 12-kilometer stretch of white sand and turquoise water, where you can also enjoy luxury accommodation, yoga retreats, boutique shopping, and delicious food. Snorkeling on the coral reef, where you can see a diversity of colorful fish and marine life. Sailing on a dhow, a traditional wooden boat, and watching the sunset over the Indian Ocean. Tasting the Swahili cuisine, which is influenced by African, Arab, and Indian flavors, and features dishes like coconut-crusted prawns, crab samosas, and Swahili curry.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to coast
The transfer to the SGR Station will be on your own arrangement. You are required to depart from Nairobi as per the SGR timing booked. Upon arrival at the SGR Station, you will be met by the Come Travel Kenya representative. He will assist you with your luggage and drive you to your beach hotel. After your scenic journey, you’ll get the chance to stretch your legs and settle into your room. Relax to the sounds and views of the beach. After settling in spend a little time falling in love with this piece of paradise. Enjoy the hotel amenities, stroll to the beach and simply enjoy.

Day 3: Enjoy Diani Beach
If you love the beach this is definitely the best tour for you. Explore Lamu Old Town on foot. Lamu Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the oldest Swahili settlement along the East African coast. You can admire the ancient buildings, carved doors, coral stone walls, and rooftop patios as you walk through the narrow alleyways. You can also visit the Lamu Museum, which showcases the history and culture of the local people. Sample the delicious Swahili dishes and street food. Lamu has a variety of cuisines to offer, influenced by Arab, Indian, Persian, and Portuguese traders. You can try some of the local specialties, such as biryani, pilau, samosas, chapatis, coconut rice, fish curry, and mandazi.
You can also enjoy fresh seafood, fruits, and juices from the street vendors and markets .Attend the Lamu Cultural Festival. The Lamu Cultural Festival is an annual event that celebrates the traditions and heritage of the Swahili people. It usually takes place in November and features various activities, such as dhow races, donkey races, henna painting, poetry recitals, musical performances, and exhibitions. Stroll along the magnificent Shela Beach. Shela Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Lamu, with white sand and turquoise water. It is a perfect place to relax, sunbathe, swim, or surf. You can also take a boat ride to Manda Island or visit the nearby villages. Go on a sunset dhow cruise. A dhow is a traditional wooden sailing boat that is used for fishing and transport in Lamu. You can take a dhow cruise along the coast and enjoy the stunning views of the ocean and the island. You can also watch the sunset and see the stars in the sky .
