Paragliding
As we engage in sports adventure tours, Paragliding in Kenya is for adventure seekers as it is considered dangerous, but it is extremely exhilarating and becoming among the loved sports tours 2020.
A paragliding experience involves foot launching from high ground. A paraglider has a wing which is elliptical rather than round like a parachute, a harness where you can comfortably sit, a reserve parachute for safety as well as a speed bar. It is attached to the person’s body by a harness then allows them to glide through the air and gracefully soaring like a bird in the skies. You need to get fierce winds and high ground to jump start your glide as it is not motorized in any way.
This sport should not be confused with skydiving which involves jumping out of an aero plane or parasailing which involves being towed by a boat. Paragliding requires high ground and the most popular spot in Kenya is in the Kerio Valley because of the high ground and you can soar into the skies and get wonderful views of the Rift Valley. Other spots in Kenya include: Kijabe Hill, Mt. Ololokwe and Ndoto Mountains, Katelembo or Mua hills, Kibini Hills, Shimba hills, Masue hills, Shela Beach.
